Tomorrow marks the 10th anniversary of Zero Discrimination Day, a day where we celebrate everyone’s right to live a full and productive life with dignity. It signifies our responsibility as individuals and organisations to say no to inequalities which undermine justice and dignity, whether because of gender, income, race, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion. Zero discrimination calls for us not just to be non-discriminatory but more importantly, anti-discrimination. It aims to de-stigimatise and in turn celeberate, what makes us, as people, different.
At Cisilion, we pride ourselves on having a zero tolerance policy to discrimination and have strict internal policies in place, which are aligned to the Equality Act 2010, to protect those who may be at the receiving end of discrimination in the workplace.
We are a proud LGBTQIA+ supporting employer, have installed measures to enable us to become a certified Level 2 Disability Confident Employer as well as ensuring we are a fair, living wage employer too. Cisilion are also a diverse workforce and we ensure we highlight and celebrate culturally significant holidays for different religions, including Chinese New Year, Ramadan and Easter.
We have made strides in creating a community of women both internally and externally. Our Women of Cisilion meet regularly for internal sessions to network and discuss topics like creating your own personal brand. Our external Women in Tech community is growing continuously and gaining traction through events like our ladies night at the 02 and our attendance at other women focused events, including CRN’s Women and Diversity in Tech and Channel Festival and Cisco’s Women of Impact Summit.
We have also launched an ESG Committee, consisting of volunteers from across the business who meet on a monthly basis to discuss everything ESG – one of which being Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. They drive initiatives which not only support individuals from different backgrounds but also help celebrate what makes #TeamCisilion unique and different. Alongside this we have documented Cisilion’s ESG strategy and made it accessible internally to all so everyone is aware of the amazing things we are involved in.
