Cisilion’s ESG commitments have broadened over the past two years, and, more recently, we have been given the opportunity to focus on social value projects. Since changes were made to the Social Value model in 2021, we have broadened our knowledge and offerings to both our public and private sector clients.
Last month, Team Cisilion joined forces with one of our long-standing customers London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust and Masterclass, a UK charity designed to make higher education more accessible. Naomi Thomas is a proud administrator of Masterclass and explained that the “programme broadens the horizons of every student that participates. It is incredible to see them develop their thought processes and aspirations as they learn valuable knowledge about higher education and the opportunities available to them”.
Cisilion, Masterclass and the LNWH team visited the University of Oxford to discuss career options with students from the Masterclass programme. Cisilion’s Nathan Ashby and Natasha Morgan spoke at the event, giving the students an understanding of the benefits of careers within the IT industry. Mahroof Anwar, Head of Sustainability and Social Value at North West London Procurement Services summarised the day perfectly:
“This was a fantastic opportunity engaging with school children about the benefits of university and the range of opportunities waiting for them in the professional world. I had a brilliant day alongside the Cisilion team – it was a truly valuable event for everyone involved”.
Cisilion also attended the ‘Girls in ICT’ day hosted by Withersworldwide, aiming to inspire young girls who may be considering a career within the tech industry. We were fortunate enough to offer two work experience placements to students from local girls schools which is due to commence over the Summer.
What Does Cisilion’s Social Value proposition look like in the future?
Cisilion’s social value strategy encompasses our key ESG themes of tackling social inequality, tackling discrimination, and enhancing employee health and wellbeing. My People & Talent team are continuing to offer CV workshops and mock interview practice to disadvantaged groups identified with the help of our loyal client base.
Our voluntary ESG committee consists of a voluntary group of individuals, meeting on a quarterly basis to help identify and tackle our key ESG issues. Part of this is our social value impact and our key members work alongside our client base to understand the complex needs of local communities to ensure our social value initiatives are providing positive impact and change. Our mission continues…
