Flavour, Culture and Community: Cisilion’s World Food Day Celebration

At Cisilion, we believe that one of the most powerful ways to celebrate diversity and inclusion is through food—and this World Food Day, the ESG committee hosted a World Food Day event in our Leatherhead office which came alive with flavour, culture, and community.

Team Cisilion arrived in their droves with food! From the moment the first dishes arrived, the room was filled with the aromas of spices, sweetness, and smokiness. We were treated to a global culinary journey, with Cisilion’s employees sharing traditional dishes from their homes and heritage including:

· Pakistan: Spicy and delicious chicken biriyani that warmed the soul.

· Sweden: Sweet and sticky cinnamon rolls that melted in the mouth.

· South Africa: Traditional pap and moriyo, a comforting, traditional and hearty staple.

· The Americas: Smokey, flavorful jambalaya and sticky BBQ chicken wings.

· Italy: crunchy and cheesy arancini and lemony creamy cannoli.

There were too many dishes and sweet treats to name, but we can confirm first-hand that they were delicious!

Each dish told a story—of family, tradition, and pride. It was more than just a meal; it was an invitation into each other’s homes and cultures. The room buzzed with laughter, curiosity, and appreciation as we tasted, learned, and connected.

But the celebration didn’t stop at the table. In the spirit of giving, we collected donations for our charity partner of the year, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Thanks to the generosity of #TeamCisilion, we raised over £300 for this incredibly deserving cause.

We’re so looking forward to next years World Food Day so #TeamCisilion, the challenge has been set to make next year even tastier! Here’s to many more moments of flavour, fun, and togetherness.
