Cisco Future Workplace Event

Cisco Future Workplace Event

Written by Natasha Morgan | Senior Marketing Communications and Events Executive

On Thursday 27th March we had the pleasure of visiting Cisco’s newly refurbished Finsbury Circus office to co-host their Future Workplace Event. David Direito, Regional Sales Leader UKI Collaboration lead this dynamic session throughout the morning.

Market Trends

To start the day David spoke about the current market trends when it comes to hybrid work and sustainability concerns. He read through some very interesting stats including:

4/5 people are asking for hybrid work

8/10 businesses are refurbishing offices or consolidating to a new office

74% desire to consolidate apps and integrate experiences at home, remote and in the office

79% of corporations are concerned about their carbon footprint

David discussed Cisco’s views as employers themselves, understanding that they need to adapt to new ways of work and create an atmosphere in the office that attracts people, their motto being ‘create the office to be a magnet not a mandate’.

Future-proof Workspaces

We then went onto discuss how Cisco and Cisilion power how people and technology work across the physical and digital worlds including AI-ready data centers and digital resilience.

Future-proofed workplaces are all about reimagining workplaces and the customer experience. David showcased the Webex hybrid work and customer experience portfolio which entails flexible workstyles, reimagining workspaces and maximising customer experience.

Smart spaces is also a massive contributor to these future workspaces. There are numerous smart devices that can be implemented into meeting rooms to detect occupancy, temperature and humidity, people’s physical location in the office and much more. On top of this there is a smart buildings cloud platform that ingests and consolidates the ‘data exhaust’ from these various sensors.

Smart Dashboards

David showcased their both their Smart Dashboards. The front-end one powered by Webex and the back-end one powered by Meraki. This allows businesses to detect problems themselves and locate the issue, providing an end to end solution that reduces need for suppliers.

As Sustainability is a concern for so many businesses, they have implemented an ESG/Sustainability report onto the Webex Control Hub which details your carbon emission insights.

End to End Solutions

Now to sum up the whole journey from devices to spaces and your creation of your smart building!

Cisilion Customer: Flutter Entertainment

David interviewed our customer Ryan Treacher from Flutter and our Senior Solutions Architect at Cisilion. The spoke about how they have transformed their workplace with Cisco devices through the partnership of Cisilion. This included the challenges they faced and why their partner choice of Cisco and Cisilion was so important to them.

A tour of Cisco

The attendees were then given a tour of Cisco’s office where all the technology spoken about is in action. They were shown the Cisco spaces and different sized meeting rooms along with how to book them and how the smart devices show their data. For example, if a meeting room is available the light outside will be green, if someone has booked the room the light will be orange, and if someone is inside the light will be red.
