Want to get GDPR Compliant?

GDPR Compliant with Cisilion and Azure Information Protection

In May 2018, the EU will begin enforcing a new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the most impactful privacy law for several years, with strict rules for any company collecting or processing personal data. This will require business to have even more rigour around data privacy and what and how data is shared. GDPR will require businesses to demonstrate “how” they are safeguarding personal, customer and client data against these strict requirements.

With many businesses now living in (or moving to) a cloud-first, mobile-first era, this means ensuring that organisations can trust their suppliers, partners and cloud solution providers with their information and data.

As more of our customers are getting their head around how to be (or remain) complaint, Cloud and Privacy/Compliance in the cloud is often top on mind. It is worth remembering (or noting if you didn’t know) that when we talk about the Microsoft Cloud (whether that be Office 365 or Azure), Microsoft’s commitment to their customers is to ensure complete transparency about how they collect and store their data in the cloud, as well as how they can control and safe guard their privacy.

Trust in the Microsoft cloud is built on four key principles:

  • Privacy and Control – giving customers access to and control of their data
  • Security – continual protection from external cyber threats
  • Compliance – unparalleled investment in meeting global standards
  • Transparency – clear insight into Microsoft’s policies and procedures
GDPR applies right across organisations, since many different parts of a business deal with different aspects of customer data. From Sales and Marketing, to Projects, Delivery and Support – client data is handled as part of day to day activities so it is important to ensure that we (and our customers) understand the Microsoft privacy policies as well as their own to maintain trust and credibility.

How businesses need to protect personal data, classify this data in the first place and ensure that is adequately secured and accessible only by those that “should” and “need” access to it is and will become high priority for businesses over the next 12 months. With the Enterprise Mobility and Security Suite from Microsoft, Cisilion can help you stay or achieve compliance without impacting productivity of the workforce.
