April 4th 2025 marks International Women in Tech Day, a date that celebrates the achievements of women in the tech industry. The goal is to accelerate STEM education and awareness about the importance of empowering women in tech.
At Cisilion, we have been making strides in building a community of women both internally and externally. We see the importance of building a support network for women to build themselves up and grow in both their careers and personal lives.
Females make up 25% of the Cisilion Executive Leadership team which has enabled the organisation to focus on positive change for the Women in Cisilion network. Rachel Ward-Miller, People & Talent Director, has been the driving force behind our enhanced maternity, paternity and other parental packages and Hannah Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer, has introduced our Return-to-Work Programme.
Not only in leadership, but across the entire business, we are making significant increases in the number of female employees. In 2024 our procurement team has seen a 30% increase in women and sales support has seen a 40% increase. Marketing is also making headway with a 6% increase. We are taking actions to increase this number such as sending females from all departments to leadership training courses. Natalie Robert, Head of Procurement at Cisilion attended the award-winning Cisco ‘Bridge the Gap – Elevating Women in Leadership’ programme which helps develop female leaders in the tech industry.
‘Being part of the Bridge the Gap programme was a real pleasure. It allowed me to take time out from my day-to-day job to reflect on what it is that I need to continue to succeed and thrive in what is still a male dominated industry. It was great to meet women on similar paths and with the same experiences in order to share and support each other, it made you realise we are not alone.’ – Natalie Roberts, Head of Procurement at Cisilion

As a valued Cisco partner, we continually develop our relationships with the Cisco teams, such as by attending and hosting collaborative events and training days. We recently attended the watch party for the Cisco Women of Impact Summitt. Since the launch of our rebrand and refurbished office in 2024, we have invited Cisco employees to use our office space. This has allowed for more face-to-face time between both the women of Cisco and Cisilion. To celebrate International Women in Tech Day we asked some of the women in Cisco what it means to them to be a woman in tech.
‘Being a woman in tech means working in a field where diversity is still a challenge, but the contributions I have seen from incredibly talented women speak for themselves. The industry is slowly moving forward and I am proud to be a part of that change.’ – Charlotte McAuliffe, Technical Solutions Specialist at Cisco

‘Being a woman in tech is about proving to myself everyday that my voice, ideas, and presence matter. It’s a constant reminder that I belong, and I’m capable of creating change.’ – Miriam Munoz Martin, Business Development Manager at Cisco

Both these quotes acknowledge the fact that while being a woman in tech makes you a minority, and there are strives being made to change this, women are proud to be representing this industry and witness the changes that are happening.
Katie Sutcliffe, Campaign Executive at Cisilion describes this by stating, ‘What I love is there is no one way to ‘fit in’ as a woman in tech, I can bring my full self to the table, explore new perspectives and contribute in ways that go beyond just technical expertise. Being a woman in tech means bringing both logic and empathy to problem-solving. It’s about using technology not just to innovate, but to enable people—ultimately, using technology as a tool to make a difference.’

Our Modern Work, AI & Security Specialist Mini Biswas has been in the tech industry for nearly 15 years. She notes where she came from and the changes she has seen in this sector including in Cisilion itself.
‘Entering the tech industry without any technical background was challenging, but the support of male allies who believed in my potential has been instrumental in shaping my career and my confidence. Continuous learning has been a cornerstone of my journey, and recently completing the SC900 Microsoft Security certification has added significant depth to my strategic discussions.
Representing women in a male-dominated environment has been empowering, fuelled by the technical acumen I have developed through years of experience. As a mother of two, I have honed multi-organizational skills that many find difficult to master, but for me, they are my superpower. Sharing my story with the world is a source of pride, and I want to shout out to all the SuperWomen out there who do the same. Your resilience, determination, and passion drive progress and innovation in the tech industry.
At Cisilion, we have seen remarkable changes over time, with women taking on Presales roles and contributing to groundbreaking projects. The landscape for women in tech has evolved, and it is inspiring to see the increasing recognition and support for our contributions’.

Building communities of women in business has been a large part of my career over the years. Being a woman in tech is very important to me. Whilst there are a lot of improvements to be made, I am proud to be at the forefront of the changes and a keen advocate for women in the industry. The support of the women around me has been vital to my success and happiness in this sector. I have thoroughly enjoyed building our Women in Cisilion network as well as forming our Women in Tech network with our clients.
To showcase our strive for a more inclusive and diverse organisation we are nominating both Cisilion as a company and our colleagues for the CRN Women and Diversity Channel Awards which aim to champion, recognise and celebrate women and diversity in the channel.
