Role Overview:

Consultants are responsible for Architecture, Consultancy and Technical delivery activities. It is worth noting that for most Microsoft services the delivery Consultant is expected to lead the customer through the solution design. The following lists out these responsibilities in more detail:

  • Gather requirements and technical information
  • GAP analysis of potential technology hurdles
  • Design and agree end state solution
  • Design and agree migration plans
  • Document implementation and migration activities

Microsoft recommend that up to 30% of project delivery costs should be set aside for user adoption. This leads into the whole philosophy for ensuring the focus is on the users and business when designing and implementing the solution.


Key Responsibilities

Cisilion are looking for a Microsoft Solutions Consultant to join our growing Microsoft consultancy and delivery team.  The key responsibilities for this delivery focused role are as follows:

  • Lead the technical design, implementation, validation and handover to customer/support teams for on-premise, cloud and hybrid Microsoft solutions including but not limited to: –
    • Azure Active Directory and Azure AD Connect
    • Office 365 Configuration – including Exchange, OneDrive for Business, Skype for Business and Teams in both on-premise and hybrid deployments – voice experience is also an advantage
    • Designing and configurating Microsoft Identity and Information protection technologies – ideally DLP, Azure IP/RMS, Data Labelling and Classification
    • Discovery and migration of mailbox and public folders from on-premise to cloud and between tenants.
    • Microsoft Authentication Technologies including Always on VPN, MFA, SSO (experience of FIM/MIM is advantageous)
    • Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019
    • Azure IaaS/PaaS and SaaS services including Back-up and DR in Azure through ASR
  • Be able to work independently and cross-collaborate working in a fast-paced environment where technology and customer requirements change regularly
  • Possess very high intune deployment and configuration skills with some knowledge of SCCM
  • Have a good working knowledge of PKI including experience of a recent deployment.
  • Have a good working knowledge of both On-premise and Online versions of Sharepoint and have experience of Sharepoint migrations
  • Demonstrate a technical aptitude for providing extraordinary customer service, be able to influence while problem solving and build client and partner relationships
  • Possess a passion for continuous learning, strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking and good judgement
  • Work with other key areas of the business to support cross-training/up-skilling as required
  • Act as technical escalation point where necessary as part of a technical support escalation or managed service query
  • Be able to apply product & technology knowledge to improve Microsoft products and the customer experience

  • Smooth hand over to customer or Cisilion support teams
  • Seeking ways to “package” work to reduce effort and replication


Skills & Experience

  • Supporting and Delivering across the Microsoft stack
  • Deploying and configurating Exchange and Exchange Online
  • Setting up Microsoft Cloud Services and migrating workloads
  • Assessing a client environment and creating action plans
  • Microsoft Authentication Technologies including Always on VPN, MFA, SSO (experience of FIM/MIM is advantageous)
  • Windows 10 adoption and application packaging (SCCM, Intune and Autopilot)
  • Azure Active Directory and Azure AD Connect
  • Experience in the delivery of Microsoft EM+S services including Identity and data protection services
  • Knowledge & experience of the core Microsoft Office 365 Security Workloads
  • Experience of Cloud Migrations from VMware/Hyper V to Azure
