Skype for Business Online Multi-Region is almost ready to roll

Microsoft is readying (via its Preview Program), much better support for Multi-National businesses who use Office 365, and in particular Skype for Business Online, to have users distributed across multiple Office 365 Data centres to provide much better media quality by reduced latency.

This might sound trivial, but this is a really big deal since today, a company’s Office 365 tenant can only be in one location (the location it is set-up in) globally. This new enhancement this will allow IT to “regionalise” the Skype for Business Online service, bringing conferencing and media closer to where their users are located, thereby reducing latency and the distance across the network/internet traffic has to go.
